The development of this activity helped me improve my ability to communicate in English in a more practical and interactive way. While preparing the script and the presentation about a tourist place in my region, I learned how to describe locations in detail, explain their main characteristics, and talk about why these places are important, attractive, or well-known for visitors and tourists.
During the preparation of the presentation, I had to organize the information carefully so that the explanation would be clear and easy to understand. This process helped me expand my English vocabulary related to tourism, culture, and geography. It also allowed me to practice how to explain ideas in a logical order, beginning with general information about the place and then describing its most important features, attractions, and cultural value.
Another important part of the activity was using digital tools such as PowerPoint to create the slides. This helped me present the information in a more organized and visually attractive way. Including images and short texts in the slides made the presentation more interesting and helped support the explanation of the tourist destination. Using these technological tools also helped me develop better skills for presenting information in academic and professional contexts.
Recording the video presentation was also a very valuable experience. It gave me the opportunity to practice my pronunciation and speaking skills in English while presenting the information in front of the camera. At first it required concentration and preparation, but it helped me gain more confidence when speaking and expressing my ideas in another language.
In addition, recording myself allowed me to notice aspects that I can continue improving, such as pronunciation, fluency, and the way I organize my ideas when speaking. Watching the recording also helped me reflect on my performance and recognize the progress I have made in learning English.
Overall, this activity was very useful because it combined research, writing, technology, and speaking practice. It not only helped me improve my English communication skills, but also allowed me to learn more about the tourist attractions of my region and how to present this information clearly and effectively to other people.
